TimeWasters Anonymous

So I've been reading Neil Gaiman's blog a lot lately, and about everyday there is a new update on the Coraline Movie and its accompaning extremely sweet site.

I finally decided to check out said site, and look what happened!!

The site is pretty darn cool. They have a ton of places to explore and activities to do, and I believe they are adding more everyday.

Also: Seriously man, Daniel sucks.*

*That's for making fun of my writing, meano-face!

Peanut Butter Crappers

A few weeks ago, while drinking a rather delicious beer at Harry's Country Club with my friend Ashley, I decided that I liked cookies. Now, this wasn't too big of a revelation, since cookies are great, but what WAS big was that I thought,
"Why don't we all get together and MAKE cookies?"

And so the "Cookie Party" was born.

Yes I know. I am a genius.

We all met on Sunday afternoon with cookie doughs in hand (with the exception of Belinda who had been catching rays in California that weekend), ready for an awesome time. And I have to say that an awesome time was had.

Here are a few of the awesome cookies we made.

We made some in the "traditional style"

And some untraditional. :-)

(Carolyn's Christmas Shark)
As you can see, we got pretty creative. :-)

Maybe a little "too" creative.

We even made a new mustache for Daniel!

I made Alex a little Alex cookie!

They got along really well...

And of course we made some "not-so-nice cookies" too...
(Cover your eyes kids!)

We named them Eunich, Adam, and Eve!

Adam forgot to wear pants, Eve wore her Christmas Tree Fig Leaf, and Eunich, has no pants, but he does have a raher nice bowtie. Thank you Ashley!
All in all it was one lovely afternoon of cookie making, baking, and decorating! I'm pretty sure we've started a new tradition, and I'm glad.....cause I lika dem cookies! Mmmmmmmm!

A Deathcentric Musical Day

So I'm not really sure why this is happening, but the two songs I've had in my head all morning at "Feed Me Seymore" from Little Shop of Horrors and "Epiphany" from Sweeney Todd.

Both are about people deserving to die.

(Starring the kickass Angela Lansbury and the AMAZING George Hearn)

(And my childhood crush, Rick Moranis. He's so dreamy.)

I really don't think anyone deserves to die right now. I swear! And I know that this post, coming right after my last post makes me look like a terrible person, but I swear, I don't have murder on my mind. I just happen to like my music murderous.

Although you guys sure look like plant food to me. ;-)

We Hate HER Club

Have you ever met a person that assaults your senses in a not good way? Looking at the person is only a little better than hearing the grating sound of said person's voice talking her complete nonsensical bullshit. A person whose very presence in the room makes you want to simultaniously vomit and run as far away as possible.

I have met such a person...and SHE is marrying one of my friends.

Sigh.

What do you do when the friend you thought you knew, chooses to love a person that is the complete opposite of all the great and unique things you like about your friend? Paula Abdul might say that Opposites Atract, but I say, "What the F*ck Paula Abdul?"

McSigh.

It's okay for now, but I wonder what will happen when I watch my friend marry HER?? I mean, if this were a movie, my friend would meet a wonderful girl, full of life, vitality and adventure AND through a series of hilarious mishaps, he would eventually realize he loves this new girl and after a ton of people get arrested and burglars try to steal the jewels, and the secret agent guy grabs the hidden documents, the wedding will be called off and everything will work itself out lovely. Ummmm...that is pretty much what happens in What's Up Doc?
More Sigh.

At least one good thing does come out of all this: When I'm with HER, I appreciate all the people I love more and more. Plus, now I'm in the mood to watch What's Up Doc?

I am so lazy

So I am completely lazy and have not yet done and have not yet updated about Halloween or anything cool that has happened recently. I promise that the Halloween post will come eventually, in all it's glory, but until now, here is a teaser.

But right now, I just have to say three things.

1. Thank God Barak won the election.
2. All Marriages should be illegal until EVERYONE can marry who they love.*
3. I get to go to Chicago in less than 6 hours!!! You cannot imagine how excited I am just to be out of this state for a long weekend.

* I also have to say that my feelings on this MIGHT have to do a little with the fact that I have already been invited to 7 WEDDINGS next year and honestly....that's too much.

So everyone have a great weekend and know that I am having a sweet and awesome time! Wooo!

Movie Time

Just watched Iron Man on Blueray Tuesday night and I have to say it was pretty sweet! What was also pretty sweet was my drinking at least 3 Mich Ultras and getting pretty darn tipsy while sitting in a Papasan Chair. ;-) Anyhoo....

Does anyone remember this movie? I was just reminded of it yesterday when I read an article on the Best Halloween movies to watch and now I can't get it out of my head. I'm almost positive I watched it when I was a kid and probably totally loved it. I'm putting it on my Netflix.
As of now I have only vague memories of THAT movie, but I DO have awesome memories of a lot of other Halloween movies which I have compiled for you here! Without further ado, I present:

My Top 5 Films to Watch on Halloween

5. Arsenic & Old Lace -

Ever since I did this show in October of 90-something, I have adored it. :-) Mortimer Brewster is one of the THE coolest characters out there. His mix of dry, witty humor, plus slapstick gets me every time. Plus, the Frankenstein/Igor mentality of Johnathan & Dr. Einstein make the show amazing!

4. Casper -

Christina Ricci? Between this and Now and Then, my high school self completely adored you. I also adored that dress you got to wear...and HOLY CRAP, Casper was HOT!! Plus you lived in the coolest House EVER and you had the neatest Halloween Party too, and Bill Pullman is awesome and holy cow, I NEED to watch this movie right now.

3. The Rocky Horror Picture Show -

Halloween Memory: Going to Sarah Davenport's house and dressing up with Brenda as Brad and Janet to watch it on VH1. At the time, I was pretty sure it was the "dirtiest" movie I had EVER seen and that I was probably going to hell for watching it. If only my high school self could meet me now. . .

2. Hocus Pocus -

Oh, Hocus Pocus. How many times have I watched thee? How many times have I made eyes over the kid from Erie Indiana?? How many times have I sang Come Little Children I'll Take Thee Away... and Put A Spell On You?? The answer is LOTS. And even though I could probably quote the entire movie, it never really gets old....well, almost never.

1. Poltergeist -

Possibly the best "Scary" movie ever made. The creepy clown, the freakin' ridiculously too scary tree, and that awesome lady who was in all those 80's movies. Spielberg at his best, Film at it's best, and creativity at its best! Most definitely my FAVORITE Halloween movie, and one which I have watched repeatedly for the past three Halloweens running.

So what will I be doing this Halloween?? Well...aside from partying it up hardcore at my Annual Halloween Party, I WILL be watching Poltergiest sometime during the night. And who knows, maybe we'll all fall asleep with the TV on . . .

Honorable Mention
Donnie Darko

Memorable Prom Night...

Friday...thank the Gods! Right now I'm listening to "Sh-Boom" otherwise known as "Life Could Be A Dream" by the Chords. It always makes me think about Back to the Future. At least the first movie, when they go back to the 50's. :-)

This Halloween I am planning on being a 1950's high school girl on Prom Night. On the way to the Prom, she and her steady boyfriend stop at Lover's Lane to neck. Unfortunately...this turns out to be a wrong choice, because as they are in her boyfriend's convertable, zombies attack them. My girl struggles, but eventually is bitten and infected with the zombie virus. Soon she is one of them too, and what is there to do but go to the Prom and wreck a little havoc! Mwahahahahah!!!

I should really give my girl a name.....hmmmm, what was Marty's mom's name?? I'm really going for her look actually, except I'll be wearing a knee length dress instead of a long one. I still haven't decided about my hair either....but I think I might be able to pull off her style as well...only with some twigs, dirt, and messyness in it to account for the zombie struggle.

Wikipedia has informed me that her name was Lorraine!! Excellent. Would I be too much of a copycat to go by Lorraine the zombie, or should I do something more original? Maybe it will just be Betty... Also, along with the whole prom dress zombie theme...I found this movie/musical online. Zombie Prom.

We Saw Catbus!!!

Lots to talk about.
Came from a great weekend and ended up with a terrible Monday. But honestly, I'm in a pretty good mood now, and since I don't want to spoil it, that's all I'll say on the subject until later.
__________________________________________________

So instead I'm going to focus on My Neighbor Totoro! Ever since we watched this movie on Sunday evening, we have been singing the song "To-to-ro, To-toro" and I am now in love with Catbus. I want Catbus. Watch the video and you'll see him. :-)

Now brace yourself for this. There is a real life Catbus.

I must have it. I must in a way that James Bond Villians MUST rule the world. Catbus and I must become one and travel the world bringing peace and joy to everyone we encounter.

A Brief History

So I've been starting to think lately about exactly why I've started a blog and also why everytime I've had a "diary/webpage/live journal/any form of writing on a regular basis device" I've never been able to keep up with it. I remember being so excited in Eighth Grade after I read "The Diary of Anne Frank". I immediately went out and bought my own diary so that I could begin my own documentation of my existence. I even gave it the same name as Anne's "Kitty."*

I think it lasted for about a week of regular updates, then about once every two to three weeks, then I updated about once every six months and finally....well I have no idea where it even ended up. Probably in a pile of my old school papers in a box in my mom and dad's basement. Ooops...sorry about STILL never going through those boxes.... I mean....it's not like I've been married for 3 1/2 years and own my own house with plenty of space for storing old diaries.

ANYWAY...back to my earlier story, journals just don't seem to work. So I'm gonna try to just say...there are no committments with this. We'll see if this goes the way of my earlier attempts.

P.S. I would just like to state that Skittles are scarily sugary. After eating a "fun-size" bag about 5 minutes ago, I feel like I should be doing jumping jacks and getting ready to race Michael Phelps.

* Honestly....how unimaginative was I? couldn't I have thought of a name for MY OWN diary!!??

Welcome!!

WELCOME!
I am throwing all common sense aside and inviting everyone into my new blog. Congratulations on your good fortune!
------------------------------------------------------------------
So I've been reading the latest Twilight Book and I have to say I'm addicted. I also refuse to call it "Breaking Dawn". Instead I always say I'm reading Twilight # 4. "Breaking Dawn" seems pretentious, I suppose, whereas Number 4 seems like the name of a James Bond villian. Either way...I totally adore the storyline, so SUCK IT all you disappointed teeny boppers!!!
